Recommendations for a Healthy Liver

Before studying to be a NTP I really didn't know much about the liver or all that it does. But wow...what a megastar our liver is!

According to Dr. Sarah Ballantyne (2017): Our liver is constantly working to process the removal of cholesterol, it stores vitamins and minerals, helps regulate our blood sugar, break down fat, metabolizes amino acids, destroys old red blood cells, and produces clotting and immune factors. In Phase I of detoxification begins by transforming harmful chemicals that are fat-soluble into water-soluble compounds. Phase II detoxification is about small molecules being added to processed toxins to help neutralize them.

Keeping our liver healthy and detoxified is vital to our overall health. What we put on our body and what we put in our body is processed through our liver. Therefore, it is critically important to eat properly. If we don't eat nutrient dense high quality food our liver won't have the nutrients it needs to function properly.

Years of inadequate nutrition can lead to many health issues. Some seem random and unrelated, but it may be that your liver needs some care.

Do you have itchy or excessively dry feet?

Do you get easily intoxicated?

Is your poop normal healthy poop or is it odd colored?

Do you get frequent headaches on the top of your head?

Are you overly sensitive to perfumes and cigarette smoke?

Have you have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia?

I am not a doctor and my recommendations are for general educational purposes only. I am not treating or diagnosing any illness.
