Avocados are A delicious and healthy fat to support optimal health

Recently the American Heart Association published a study evaluating the consumption of avocados and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Over the last 30 years 68,786 women and men were followed and studied.

It turns out the eating just 2 or more servings each week will lower your risk of cardiovascular disease by 16% and your risk of coronary heart disease by 21%.

Consuming healthy fats from plants and animals is supportive of optimal health. Fat is the main energy source for your heart and brain. Fats also keep us full longer and help stabilize our blood sugar swings. Not to mention that fats are what make food taste amazing!

Avocados are available almost year round and they are a creamy and delicious addition to a many different meals.

Consuming avocados offers your body monounsaturated fat, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and they are low in sugar. Just a half of an avocado a day supplies you with tasty nutrient rich calories.
