Where to go: North Shore - Haleiwa on the Island of Oahu

Haleiwa is a special place. It is known the world over as the North Shore and is famous for its big wave surfing. I've never been a surfer but I enjoy watching those brave enough to get out there. The little town of Haleiwa is a wonderful place for our family to get away for the day. It is close but far enough that we feel the specialness when we go. The people are incredible, tons of small independently owned shops and restaurants all located along some of the most beautiful shores in the world.

Here are just a few of our favorites spots.

Nalu Health Bar & Cafe:

The Beach House is our go to spot for lunch. Always delicious and you absolutely can't beat the view!

Then there is the shopping. T&C Surf has everything you need for a day at the beach. https://www.tcsurf.com

SoHa Living has shops all over Oahu. Even though there is one in our town I always enjoy checking out others as the stock is a little different. You won't leave empty handed! https://sohaliving.com

Kaimana Shave Ice. This is a newer store in Haleiwa but the shave ice is delicious. The syrup is made with actual fruit! Not high-fructose corn syrup. And they now offer vegan ice cream. This is not a tourist trap, this is the real thing, only better.
