Sound Baths

Have you ever experienced a sound bath? If not maybe you have had the urge to move or dance when you heard certain music? That is the power of sound!

This last year I took a sound healing course. Since then I have used it on myself and our family but also on friends and others to help them be healthier. But…can sound heal?

The short answer, yes.

When we experience sounds, especially certain frequencies our cells actual move differently, they process toxins and food differently, our parasympathetic nervous system responds. That is power.

There are over 400 studies to show that sound heals, sound has a positive impact on the body and mind. I am not a musician. I am not someone special regarding musical talent. But all of my clients love a sound bath. I have had clients fall asleep they are so relaxed, others have cried, many are physically moved. It is so special to be a part of something so powerful.

Sound slows down our brain waves. It is similar to being in that state just as you are drifting off to sleep. This is a healing state. Many healing sounds are beyond our hearing abilities, but they still heal. The vibrations alone can improve your health. Sound creates coherence in your body on a cellular level.

Sound causes immense spiritual exhilaration. I am Catholic and I grew up in a church that had a massive old organ, the sound it made was intense. It lifted up the spirit. Many religions use sound or song to help members to connect to God. Ancient religions used sound to meditate, pray, celebrate, and heal. Sound has been around for millenniums.

A sound bath and vibrations:

  • Slows down your heart rate

  • Slows down your mind

  • Reduces anxiety

  • Improves sleep

  • Improves mood

  • Improves cholesterol

  • Eliminates negative emotions

  • Decreases pain in the body

  • Improves mental clarity

  • Improves organizational skills

  • Improves confidence

  • And balances your chakras

All of these benefits while lying or sitting comfortably and letting the sounds wash over you. Amazing.

If you have yet to try sound healing or sound baths I highly recommend them. After a year of doing them I now feel the sound physiologically in my cells. That may seem impossible, but it is not. Sound heals.
